Architecture Tour Pretty Buildings of Kansas City
This popular tour begins inside Union Station, one of the most iconic buildings in Kansas City, where you'll hear the story of how close it came to being torn down in the 1990s. This impressive space includes hidden gems that some locals don't even know about.
Riding the KC Streetcar, we’ll focus on buildings with design elements from the beaux arts, art deco, and modern eras. You’ll learn about the architects and their inspirations.
On one of the stops, we'll see Kansas City’s first skyscraper, built in 1890 in the Italianate Renaissance style, whose original elevator was steam powered.
The tour ends in the River Market, where some of our oldest architecture still stands.

History Tour Town of Kansas
This is Cowtown Tours most popular walking tour, for good reason! We'll start in the historic River Market district where commerce meets quirky. This area has been the heartbeat of the city since 1857, and it's still a vibrant, creative and exhilarating neighborhood to explore.
Our walk will take us through the Garment District, Quality Hill, Library District, and Financial Center. Along the way, you'll hear the stories of Nelly Don, Boss Tom, Madame Annie, and others.

On foot, we'll explore a few of the Boss Tom Pendergast's hangouts in the Crossroads Arts District, before taking the KC Streetcar towards the old River Quay neighborhood.
This tour focuses on our city's early mob history, leading up to the 1930s. Stories of bootleggers, prostitution, gambling and saloons will be shared. Let me know if your group wants to stop in a speakeasy!
