Description
See where it all began, along the bluffs of the Missouri River. Starting in a coffee shop on the location of the city’s first opera house, we’ll explore the historic City Market. This retail and residential neighborhood is quirky, unique and vibrant; there will be time for a little shopping in the market! From there, we’ll walk to the Garment District, which was one of the largest clothing design and manufacturing districts of its time. From high atop Quality Hill, we’ll look down into the West Bottoms to discuss the city’s stockyards, river, and rail histories. Heading back to the market, we’ll pass by some of our oldest and most beautiful buildings.
